I spent 23 years in oil and gas. Third generation. I made life-or-death decisions in wellbores thousands of feet underground across every basin west of the Mississippi. I know what discipline looks like when equipment failure means environmental disaster and people get hurt.
On September 11, 2001, I was on the 29th floor of 2 World Trade Center, training for my Series 7 license at Weatherly Securities. I survived. I went home to Louisiana. I buried myself in work and tried to forget.
For years I trusted the system. I trusted financial advisors. I trusted companies that promised to trade my money for me. They did not deliver. I lost capital. And something broke open: the realization that nobody was coming to save me.
